After replacing my screen, I only have dark blue backlight.

Hi,

Today i replaced the screen on my iPhone 4, i put the phone back together and it powered on fine, and the new screen worked perfectly.

I then noticed that the sim tray was not sitting flush with the phone so i took it apart again and fixed this issue.

When i put the phone back together again, the screen only displayed a dark blue screen.

I am able to access 'Voice Control' so im pretty sure the phone is in good working order apart from the blue screen.

Does anybody have any idea of what i have done wrong here, or have any ideas of what may be wrong?

Many thanks

Charlie

no.1 thing is to undo it all and then redo..maybe something has come loose? no.2 if you only have blue light then it sounds like the flex is damaged..most screen issues that can be fixed with hard reset are white screen or black screen. Try reseating the flex and see what happens. (also check the frame screws aren't on too tight?)

If you having the same problem we sometimes have when testing LCDs, I think this may work. Try to reset the phone by pressing the home button and the mute button for about 5-10 seconds. If that doesn't work, disconnect the battery connector from the logic board and plug it back in and turn on the phone.

This is pry damage near LCD/digitizer connectors.

Find the missing/damaged component to confirm, then send out for board-level repair
