plastation 3 won't read dual layer dvd games

My playstation 3's bd drive (BD-400) won't read dual layer DVDs. It reads all types of blurays and single layer DVDs. I already tried to clean the laser glass it with Isopropyl alcohol. What else can i do?

If cleaning don’t work, replace it.

Hi @sam62990

Have you tried different DL dvd discs just in case the one you're trying is faulty for whatever reason?

DL dvd discs aren't mentioned in the user manual > video category so the player might not support them.

This link may be of interest as it shows that others have had the same problem and managed to get some DL discs working.

i have the CECHA01 and it does not read dual layer PS2 games. i tried it on my other CECHA01 ps3 and it works
