2006 Intel MAC will not boot up

I have the exact problem described here -->iMac Suddenly went off and will not come back on- No LEDs visible-

..and similar to his problem, I cannot locate the Diagnostic LED. Is it possible some of these units came without one?

Machine is dead, no reaction to any power source at all. EMC # is 2104.

Options

Some did not have the LEDs. They may also be located just to the right of the RAM slot and be covered by a piece of black electrical tape extending up from the bottom edge of the logic board and covering the LEDs. If so, just remove the tape.
