MacBook LCD Will not light up even after LCD replacement (Backlight)

Hey guys, I have a Late 09 Polycarb Unibody with backlight issues. I was quoted 200+ at the Genius bar to replace the LCD but decided to change it myself. After a quick installation, I'm still facing the same issue. The screen is powered on yet the backlight is not there and is extremely dim. I can even see the Brightness meter moving across the screen.

Is the next step checking out my logic board? I feel like this won't end well.

Thanks all.

First try hooking it up to an external monitor to isolate the problem. Did you get the part from a reputable dealer or off eBay?

Sounds like an inverter board issue, Apple part # 922-8280, to be sure on the part number we need the last three figures of your serial number. The inverter cable is Apple part # 922-8281 but these are only on the Early 2009 machines, so check to see which machine you have.
