When Left Joystick pressed the triggers activate

I tried to replace my joystick and I was getting any input. I tried clicking it down and it activate the left and right joystick

@davidclaydon I could also use some clarification on the exact problem since the title says the triggers activate, but your post says the joysticks activate.

Did you replace the joystick cap (the plastic bit the pops on the stem of the joystick)? Or the joystick itself (which would have required soldering)?

My apologies I wrote this on too little energy. I entire replaced and soldered an entire new joystick on. When I would press the joystick down it would active the Left and Right triggers 100%
