Swollen battery pushed screen out. Can I still change battery?

My laptop is working as an entertainment content source for my TV so I seldom move and or unplug it.
I noticed recently that the battery has swollen and has forced out the screen, so it is slightly curved. Would it be possible to change the battery and expect the screen to go back to its original shape?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Hey there @luenbore,

Yes, you can still replace the battery, but I would exercise caution when doing so. I would highly recommend taking a look at iFixit's article on What to do with a swollen battery, and using the advice from the How to safely remove a swollen battery section in conjunction with the Battery Replacement guide. I would especially exercise caution around steps 52 through 59, and have a prepared fireproof container, such as a sealed metal can, metal bucket of sand, or equivalent.

Hi Luis.

I agree with the two previous answers. I'd just like to share with you my own recent experience of changing the battery on the Surface Pro 4 tablet, which was far from trivial.

You can find my comments here => https://fr.ifixit.com/R%C3%A9ponses/Affi...

Good luck!
