Trackpad jumps like crazy. Impossible to use.

Hello,

Some months ago the trackpad started to be less responsive. With the time, the problem got worse. Now, it is completely wild, it jumps around and clicks everything without touching it. Trying to control it is just impossible. I have to use it with an external mouse connected all the time.

I have tried almost everything:

The battery is not the problem as the hardware test shows it is ok and it is not bulging, totally plain.

I replaced the trackpad for another one. Nothing went better.

I also reinstalled Lion and reset the complete system after saving all my data and apps into an external disc.

Any thoughts?

P.S: I upgraded the RAM from 2GB to 4GB. The memories were the original ones from a MacBook Pro.

I called Lenovo (79.95) for them to do nothing and I still have the same problem.

Options

Sounds like the trackpad cable - it passes through a slot in case which can act like a guillotine crimping or damaging the cable as you hammer keys on the case. Some have had luck wrapping the cable with a small piece of paper or tape to protect and stiffen it.
