Replaced screen only to break "ZIF data power connector"

I was given an 2019 A2159 MacBook Pro with an broken screen, I was able to use the laptop after I removed the screen pluged-in via USBC-HDMI, and also it ran on battery without its screen. Once I replaced the screen, the battery no longer works, the culprit being I broke the ZIF connector lid for the battery data cable

The thing is, I'm sure I broke that piece off on my first go.. only for it to not work upon the screen install. I don't have any electronics expertise to diagnose this further.

  1. Can I source a replacement ZIF or ZIF clamp? I'll have a professional solder it on if need be.
  2. Any chance something else could have gone wrong, and its just a coincidence?

@thomasmulford - The latch is replaceable if that’s what went on a one way trip in the process of unlatching it. I can’t tell if that’s the issue based on the image.

Please add some better photos of what you think you broke.

@thomasmulford - Not good 😫 while it’s a bit clearer I think the main shell is damaged so replacing the latch won’t help you here.

This will require someone with good micro soldering skills and a small nozzled hot air station to replace the connector.

Thanks Dan! I'll look around for business who can solder it!
