This usually requires replacement of the whole topcase. You can use this guide: MacBook Pro 15" Unibody Late 2008 and Early 2009 Upper Case Replacement Here's a video on it: http://www.powerbookmedic.com/manual.php...

Here are the parts that will work, for some reason unknown to me, the last number gives better price results. 661-5244, 661-5481, 661-4948, 661-5854

you can replace the keyboard just follow the directions for removal of the superdrive than the logicboard, then you should remove the backlight film which is the black plastic layer which is in place using adhesive then remove the keyboard which is screwed in with 50+ tiny screws

If you're right and you can replace the keyboard by itself without replacing the entire top case, then where do you buy just the keyboard?

The only parts I have found are the top case assembly only and I cannot find just the keyboard. It seems ridiculous to have to pay $275 to replace the entire top half of the laptop case for a simple case of water spillage which 9/10 times should only require the replacement of a $20-$60 keyboard.
