Logic board compatibility between 11" and 13" models

I have a early 2015 MacBook Air 11" and want to upgrade from the 4GB board to an 8GB board. Is the board the same as the one in the 13" model?

Sadly they are not, at least not in form factor. Even though many of the onboard components are the same, the layout is just different enough that Iā€™m not convinced this would work without modification. For example the trackpad connects on opposite sides of the battery connector. Also the battery connectors are different.

I have never checked to see if a 13ā€ board would mount in an 11ā€, but based on the locations of board mounting screws, I doubt it.
