The March 2015 update of Apple's 13" MacBook Air features fifth generation Intel Core i5 and i7 processors, resulting in slightly increased performance and battery life.

Read SSD data with adapter

Hi,

My Macbook Air (1466/EMC2925) has passed away. I disassembled it and took out the SSD. I thought it would be easy to connect it to an adapter. It turns out that the adapter is pretty expensive (119 euro/140 dollar). I think that’s pretty expensive just for an adapter.

Is there a inexpensive adapter(maybe from Aliexpress) which i can buy? I was aiming for around 20 dollars. Basically it is just a converter to USB/SATA 3,5’’

Kind regards!

Apple did their own thing! As such you need to use this custom case External SSD Enclosure for Select Mid 2013 to Mid 2015 Macs or OWC ENVOY PRO

To learn more on Apples custom drives give this a read The Ultimate Guide to Apple’s Proprietary SSDs

I haven’t seen to many other options. There are a few PC cards which allow you to fit the drives into a Windows PC.

Use the SSD originally installed in your Mac as an external drive in this enclosure. USB 3.0 transfer speeds up to 500 MB/s Image
