Can I replace the gps module?

My gps is not working properly. I found online that most users think that it is a hardware issue. I cannot find a guid how to replace the module / repair it. Is it possible to do at all?

What exactly is going on with the GPS? If it is a hardware fault then that may be a bit more difficult to repair. Aside from the antenna, anything that controls GPS is actually a chip on the board. So it’s not something that can be swapped in easily like a battery or a camera. Unless the antenna is to blame. Which may even be integrated into another part.

It can likely be done. But antenna issues aside, to do so you would need experience microsoldering, and access to known good parts. It may not even be the actual component which controls GPS, it could be something mucking up communication signals to other components. Or something causing an issue with power to the chip. It may me difficult to isolate.

Because it is so complex, that’s probably why you aren’t seeing a clear cut guide on how to repair. If you can get to the internals of the phone, post some detailed pictures, which might help to find specific faults.
