Putting a 2012 MacBook Air motherboard in a 2015 MacBook Air.

I was wondering is it possible to put a 2012 MacBook Air motherboard in a 2015 MacBook Air body?

Why??

Putting a less powerful logic board into a newer system is not something I would do. If on the other hand you had a more powerful logic board than what was sold in the given system then I could see doing it.

In addition there are enough differences you can’t do it without also replacing other parts along with it and some of them won’t fit properly. The Mid 2013 to 2017 share the same parts.
