iPhone 7 plus keeps on crashing when making or receiving calls

Just recently replaced the broken screen on an iPhone 7 plus, and it seemed to be working fine, but now whenever I make a call or answer a call the phone crashes/reboots. For a while I was able to make calls by switching to speakerphone quickly, but now even that doesn’t work and it’s still crashing. I assume it’s an issue with the proximity sensor module ribbon cable connector, but I’ve disconnected it and reconnected it a couple of times, and even tried cleaning it out with alcohol to no avail (also the front facing camera works fine)
