MacBook mid 2012 BlackScreen

Hello everyone, recently I have my MacBook Pro mid-2012 computer that has suddenly turned off and when I try to turn it on I only hear hard disk starting and nothing else, (No light from the apple behind, no light from the keyboard, No screen) over all my MacBook turns on only if I keep it attached to the charger, if I detach it from the charger it turns off immediately.

What I tried: I tried to do the various resets. (PRAM, SMC ...) I tried to disconnect some things (battery wires, Ram, screen wires ...). I checked the hard disk by connecting it to another pc, and it works. So I think that the problem is the battery or the motherboard, or maybe something else, but I don't know which of these. I await your help! Thanks.

I forgot to mention that when I try to turn it on, it sometimes turns off immediately (I hear the hard drive turning on and then off).

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

What do you see if you shine a flashlight through the Apple logo in the lid. Do you see a faint image of your desktop and its icons?

Also which version is your system? 13" or 15"

by

@danj I'm talking about the "13" version. About the flashlight, I see nothing.

This doesn’t sound good ;-{

The 13” models use the intergraded graphics within the CPU so we know its not the dedicated graphics that the 15” have that can go. The fact the fan runs tells us SMC services are working, but the CPU logic has failed.

At this point you’ll need to inspect your logic board to see if you see any burnt devices or corrosion. Follow this guide: MacBook Pro 13" Unibody Mid 2012 Logic Board Replacement as you need to look on both sides very carefully. If you see anything take a detailed sharp picture of the component and make note where on the logic board with a second picture which you’ve marked the component Adding images to an existing question. You may need to just replace the logic board.

Everything seems fine (I looked carefully), I didn't find any burns or anything broken. at this point I think it's the battery.

by

@misteralex - If it was the battery then SMC wound't be working (no fan spin)

by

You're right. I'll watch it carefully again and I'll buy a new one (Logic Board).

by

@danj The fan is not working, the only thing to work is the hard disk.
