MacBook no signs of life after new battery

Decided to resurect my old Macbook Pro 15” 2010. The battery was swollen so ordered a new one and the laptop worked for about 30 glorious minutes. I went through the process to master reset it but came back to it completely dead. No sign of life, the magsafe isnt showing an led colour whilst plugged in, but using a test wand shows it is transfering power. Where do i go from here?

Answer this question I have this problem too

What does the onboard Battery checker telling you?

Are any of the eight LED’s lit are they blinking or steady?

Update (11/29/2020)

So we still have a dead battery condition with no battery checker or the checker is bad (not likely)

This then points to either the DC-In board failing due to dirt or corrosion, or the plastic is melted a bit so its not making good contact to the cord.

Ok ill order a new DC-in and give it a go - like I said the cable is transfering power (through a test wand) but ill test it on my friends macbook tomorrow and get back to you. Thanks so much for your help on this.

Test wand??

You mean Digital Multimeter

by

its one of the compact tester pens, not a multimeter i dont think.

I finally recieved the parts I needed for this repair and tried it tonight. Exactly the same outcome, no signs of life, no led on the magsafe or battery indicator, is it worth buying a new magsafe? I dont want to spend any more money on this if its dead
