Phone fell into soapy water

Just wanted to know if you could help me, I have a note 10 plus and after cleaning my dishes the phone fell into the water that had some oil/ mostly soap water.

Problem is I can't charge my phone because because it has a safty warning telling me they can detect water in my port, it's been 24 hrs and still won't let me charge, do you think it's to do with the soap that also got in the port? Do you suggest I soak the phone in pure water for a bit to get the soap out?

Thank you

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, DO NOT “SOAK” YOUR PHONE IN PURE WATER. Although it is marketed as “water resistant” or “water proof” as a lot of people mistakenly think they are, they are in fact, not. I would suggest you power it down, get a toothbrush and some rubbing alcohol. Get some alcohol on the toothbrush and gently scrub inside the port. Get the bristles in as far as you can without applying to much force. If that doesn’t work, you’ll need to get the charge port replaced. Thankfully in the Note 10 series their charge ports are on a separate daughter board so you can easily change it. On the S10 series they soldered the port on, making it harder to repair.
