Looking to upgrade storage ssd from 256mb to 1tb

I have the following MacBook and desperately need to upgrade the SSD. Some forums say you can and other say those with the touchbar can not. Confused?? There is a kit listed on iFixit, will this work?

Whats likely confusing you is the non-Touch Bar model offer a removable SSD as you can see here MacBook Pro 13" Function Keys Late 2016 Teardown But that's a 13" not 15"
