Can I transfer the motherboard in my iPhone 5?

My iphone 5 case is severely damaged, but the unit still works. I want to keep the motherboard to keep apps that I use but are no longer available. I’m assuming that all functionality is in the motherboard… I’ve reviewed the ifixit instructions for changing the motherboard and it seems very doable. I have another iphone 5 that will serve as the new frame ‘donor’ after I remove that motherboard.

Any advice from anyone who’s changed the motherboard appreciated.

You can absolutely swap the board to a new frame. Just make sure you keep yourself organized and take your time. Thankfully the iPhone 5 is pretty simple in design compared to newer models, some of which require other parts to be transferred in order to maintain certain features.
