My MacBook died for 8 months and then turned on by itself

Block Image

My laptop stopped working one day and refused to turn on by all means. I tried all the solutions that worked for other people with the same problem and nothing worked. There was no fan working so not only wasn’'t the display working, but also the laptop itself. When I tried to plug it in, the light inidcated to me that it was charging though.

Nothing worked for 8 months and one day, I don’t know what made me try and turn it on again, it worked. It works as if nothing happens, but I am afraid it won’t start up again if I shut it down at some point.

What could the problem be? The battery? Some bad contacts? What should I do to prevent it from not working again and hw can I find out what the problem was if it works completly fine now?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Well, you’ve got your moneys worth! The battery is only expected to last at best 1000 cycles! Determine battery cycle count for Mac notebooks

Time for a new battery! MacBook Air 13" (Late 2010-2017) Replacement Battery and here’s the guide to put it in: MacBook Air 13" Early 2015 Battery Replacement

You also should change your habits a bit as running through so many cycles tells me you are a person who runs the battery down and then deep charging often. Try to keep your air plugged in more often and not letting the battery run down so deep.

Do make sure you have a real Apple charger if you replaced it, there are a lot of knockoffs flooding the market which will hurt your system!
