What is all needed for a keyboard replacement?

Hello, All! I was just wondering what is all needed for JUST a keyboard replacement on my 15-inch Mid-2012 Macbook Pro (A1286). Is it just the keyboard itself or is there something for the backlight too? I could not find just a keyboard replacement guide here, just the upper case. I do not want to go that route as everything else works, only the keyboard is faulty. Thanks!

I have a 15 inch Retina display mid 2012. My keyboard looks to be riveted in. For this model, do you have replace the whole upper assembly to replace the keyboard?

You need a 000Philips, lots of time and patiences. Use the guide to remove the logic board and go from there.

Replace a damaged, dirty, corroded, or malfunctioning keyboard and internal power button switch compatible with a Unibody A1286 15" MacBook Pro from mid 2009 to mid 2012. Image
