iMac 2010 GPU into 2011 model

I have an iMac here that tends to crash with square artifacts on screen and discoloration so I’ve decided to replace the GPU.

After a lengthy repair, I’m left with a powering iMac, beautiful chime but no visual on LCD nor on external screen.

The GPU I’ve installed is, apparently, from a 2010 model and has partnumber 109-b80357-00. Should it work on my 2011 iMac?

No, this card is only for the MXM models.

First lets find your exact machine so we can see what will work in it. Please go here and enter your serial number (it’s on the bottom of your stand) and mayer we can tell you what will work.

Thank you. Doesn't "MXM" define the connector AND interface? If so, why does the2010 GPU fit in the 2011 socket?

By the way, I've selected the exact iMac model and attached it to the post. It should be visible I hope. Anyway it's the mid-2011 21.5" A1311 EMC 2428
