What does appleacpiplatformexpert start:failed mean

I get the error appleacpiplatformexpert start: failed when I start up in verbose mode. Could that be a power problem with the MacBook caused by a third party unbranded charger

Sounds like you may have used a patcher to try to upgrade your system. If you have appleacpiplatform kext in your usb extensions folder, remove it, the installer should l boot normally.

I took out the hard drive and I got the usual kernel panic that I get, unable to find driver for this platform which suggests bad ram but the ram is brand new
