screen not working found a crack

hey guys,

i dropped my iphone the other day and the screen cracked the lcd screen has gone blank. But i can hear start up sounds etc as i cant see the screen im unsure wether the touch screen is working is this a case of getting a new lcd screen and see what happens ?
