Why does my fan run all the time?

After installing new ram, my fan runs all the time. I have only plugged it in. Haven't even turned it on yet

you might want to open your computer, and clean it out. Use a blowdryer, of air gun to clean all of the dust out of the machine. Then if you want and the computer is no longer under warrenty, remove the heatsink, and re-apply thermal paste.

Open it back up and check that nothing is screwed up or connected wrong.

You almost certainly left the little black wire disconnected, the one you remove before lifting the CD frame off the motherboard. Possibly you knocked the bigger wire to the actual CPU temperature sensor off while you had the memory exposed.

Definitely do not remove the heatsink. That's way bad advice there.
