Why isn't my phone charging? Part II

Dear community,

I recently had issues with the port replacement: (Why isn't my phone charging?)

Upon re-activating my battery, the phone turns on again. I doesn’t, however, charge.

It is hovering at 1%. The display turns on when I plug in the charger.

I do have another spare port I could put in but am not sure that’s the issue

What could be the underlying issue? Tristar?

Many thanks for your help.

Okay you have ruled out a parts problem. This would be defiantly confirm a faulty component in the charging circuit. Most likely candidate would be Tristar followed by Tigras and or the charging mosfet.

Thanks for your insight. That is beyond my capabilities. New phone in winter it is. Thankfully I have a spare iPhone 8.

The repair on your phone wouldn’t be that expansive. Get a couple of quotes before shelving the phone.

Will do! Thanks. One last thing: When I use an official Apple charging cable it tells me "this accessory might not be supported". Is that something that also hints at the issues you've mentioned?

by

If it’s a certified cable it would indeed.

It wouldn’t hurt to try a couple of different charging cables. Even if they are aftermarket. I have run into phones that only charge with a specific cable.
