My iMacs Display Screen Fell down!
Hi,
I replaced my hard disk with an SSD drive and used not a right adhesive tape to put the screen back. After few hours of working with my iMac, the attack LED ( not the iMac) fell down from my desk on the floor. I attached both display data cable and the display power cable, here are the symptoms:
- The iMac LED it all black.
- I connected the iMac to my external LCD monitors and it works fine, i can login and work with it fine
- The Fan is constantly running. Why is that?
- My iMac seems to be very slow compare to the incident. What could be the reason.
I suspect that either my mac’s display is damages or one or both of the two cables: display data cable and the display power cable are broken.
Should I buy a new display screen? or just first check the cables. It seems one of the cables ( power cable is not replaceable). Is there an adhesive tape that apple certifies?
Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.
It seems one of the connector is damaged! Here are few picture. Thank you very much for your generous response.

Is this a good question?

As you see in the first picture, the plastic cover of the lower connector ( with 10 pins) is ripped off!

As i see and read on your problem in my opinion your LCD display has a problem because as you said it was fell, normally the imac fan is spinning cause each part of the imac has its sensor and the ssd that you replaced dont have it. Also the fan will spin if you didn't put the display cause the board will detect that there is missing component.

@ronnell I guess I am going to order a new LED display for it. I assume that might detect the display; Now, the SSD is Mushkin STRIKER 960GB SSD 2.5 inch SATA3 6G 7mm laptop PC! Should I order a new SSD please? Thank you.
