Look at the connector. There is a push tab release on the connector and it should only fit one way onto the plug in. Wire colors may vary, mine are all black.

@mayer - I don't remember seeing anything but black wires. This unit appears to have the two wires within a heat shrunk tubing Vs discreet like what we have seen.

@danj Looks to me like he is holding the wires that goes to the logic board and not the power supply wire.

@mayer - Look carefully and you can see the Brown wire mates up with the Blue wire from the other side and the Blue wire mates with the Brown! This is the AC connection from the power supply.

Which I think is the issue at hand. One would assume Blue to Blue and Brown to Brown which is what alerted him something looked off.

@dosman something does not look right on your connector. Post a picture that is less distorted. You do want to stick with Blue/Blue Brown/Brown until proven otherwise

Can you point to the wires you have a question on from one of the power supplies here:

@dosman - Lets do this: Take a ohm/continuity meter measuring the lines from your original power supply from the logic board to the connector. Don't look at the colors look as the pathway. So the left pin is connected to the same place on both power supplies? Then the color of the wires is not important!

This is important as you don't want to alter the polarized connection. This gets into which side is the common and hot. If the case is ground then you could introduce a hot ground issue in this case the metal case could be hot!

So you do want to make sure this is correctly wired. You may want to speak to the seller as well.

Hi dan.

I’ve tried to follow your advice above but still am struggling to determine the correct wiring. Sorry but I’m very new to fault finding.

OK, lets first index the connector:

With the cable connected mark the left side as you are holding the connection in the picture (Blue wire on left from the top side).

Carry that mark to the other side so both connectors carry the mark.

Now disconnect the cable and plug in the other power supply. As this connector is not marked mark it so the same side carries the mark.

With both power supplies on your bench, place your meters probe into the connector hitting the left marked contact. Now take the other probe touching the logic board surfaces where the wires are soldered take a marker marking the logic board where your meter showed continuity with your other probe the other wire should show no connection. Do that with the other power supply.

Now take a picture of the logic board of each power supply showing us what this point is posting both pics here so we can see.
