Removing iFixit Replacement Battery for Touchpad Removal?

I have a mid 2014 Macbook Pro 15” that’s having issues with the actual mechanical click mechanism of the touchpad (which I’d like to replace). This is the mechanical pre-force touch touchpad. Basically the touchpad has lost its ability to click properly and only has about 1/4 of the travel depth it originally had. I assume this is due to mechanical failure, as nothing appears to be jammed in it/I’ve not spilled anything on it.

My question is regarding removal of the battery: I replaced the battery in the Macbook earlier this year with the iFixit kit, and I’m wondering if the steps for removal would be the same as the original battery (chemical solvent/removal process)? I would also have to get new adhesive strips to reinstall the battery – does iFixit sell just the adhesive solvent and strips?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Use a syringe and methanol. I think iFixit uses acetone. After the adhesive dries out it is usually still sticky.
