kernal panic happened 2 times in 1 week

I got two kernel panic this week how do i stop my macbook from getting kernel panic?

This can be caused by a hardware or software problem. I go after software first. Insert your original system installation disk or a full version retail system disk, Reboot holding down the "C" key. Go to the second page pull down menu to Utilities > Disk Utility. Select your hard drive in the left hand column. Try to repair the drive. Run the repair till it runs clear. Now repair your permissions. This may have cleared your problem up, if not let us know.

I had the same problem with intermittent kernel panics. It turn out that one of my pieces of ram had gone bad. I took one out to identify which was the problem and then replaced it with some new ram. I've had no problems since
