Should I replace Logic Board or just replace the entire thing?

Ok well I'm using a 2006 Intel Mac Mini (the A1176 model) and I think the Logic Board is on its way out the door.

I just had to reseat the RAM i bought from the store here bcuz it was doing that 3 beep bad ram bank error after a few kernel panics -_-

So I was wondering if it would do any good to replace the logic board, maybe put board from the next model up before the major form factor change??

OR should i just save up and buy a newer one as a whole with a C2D chip and not that core duo

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

I don't think the logic board is failing just because you had to reseat the RAM. According to which machine you have you may be able to upgrade the CPU. Please give us the last three figures of your serial number so we know exactly which machine you have.

Pick a seller on eBay with a good reputation. For cheap go with the 1.83 C2D and you will be able to load Lion.

I still would like to try different RAM. Defective or failing RAM chips can drive you nuts when troubleshooting.

its weird, after i took them out, wiped them off and reseated them i havnt had any issues -_-

i hate computerized things and how power cycling or reseating them magically fixes everything.... if it happens again i think i still have warrantee on them
