Home button waterseal ripped off after screen replacement?

I did a screen replacement of my own and got kinda sloppy. Didn’t realize that there was a rubber around the home button and i accidentally ripped it off. Is there a way around this? Thanks.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

It will work without it, but you break the water resistance in multiple areas. Don’t get the phone wet and it’ll be fine.

That said, I would replace the seal if at all possible or at least try and salvage the bad one. It’s still not going to seal right but 90% is still better then 0%.

Do you happen to know where a replacement seal can be found? Thanks.

You probably need to buy a display or an unpaired button (for the seal). I'd live with it since opening the phone compromises the water resistance anyway.

Don’t bother. You don’t know if the screen itself is waterproof because it could be assembled from parts by some other factories and did not apply glue all around the bezel.

Usually doing a screen replacement involves in ripping the water seal of your phone. Breaking the seal where the home button is should be no big deal. Just make sure to always keep in mind that your phone is no longer splash proof
