iPhone x keeps restarting even after taking it apart

Hi there

Today I had changed the back housing. After that the iphone starts to restarts every 3 minutes and noticed that there is heat below the camera, which obviously the motherboard.

I disassemble everything for testing, I just used the power button and the 3 LCD cables. But still keeps restarting. I come into the conclusion that it must be the motherboard.

Did I miss something here? I had reset the phone but didn’t fix the issue. I could not update the iphone to the latest update which was released last week I think due to the phone keeps restarting and didn’t let me update it.

Thank you for your support

It’s either a component knocked off near one of the logic board connectors or one or more pads are ripped between the two boards that are sandwiched together that make up the iPhone X board.

Note that the pads being ripped between the board are common to occur when the phone has been dropped pretty hard.

Thank you for your help.

The phone was working before I open it. Once I replace the housing, the issue occurs.

This sounds like your *most likely* problem is that your battery is damaged or not connected well. iPhones will restart or boot loop if they are missing battery input. I’m ignoring the heat aspect of your presentation—if a new battery well connected with no damage to the battery connector (check under magnification) then I would focus on the heat you found.

I have that same problem and battery is perfect and connection is good. I swap everything back to old housing and phone stop reboot. So where is problem? New housing do that issiu. But where?

Thermal sensor on the charge port would be the next most likely

I had the exact same issue. Phone kept restarting after I put the logic board in a new back housing. Once I put the original charging port and taptic engine flex cables into the new back housing the phone worked fine. No more restarting. I am glad I found this thread because I thought it was logic board issues which would have been a lot more expensive.

Overheating makes the upper and lower layer pad not connected properly or shorting cause that issues.
