White screen after replacement

Hi,

I replaced my screen and followed instructions. All parts were connected as they should. I did the RAM reset, SMC reset, safety mode, etc and still white. I connected it to an external monitor through hdmi and it shows on there. Tried repairing the hard drive and didn’t help. I am wondering if I received a faulty screen.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Also try a PRAM reset, that can help with some screen related issues.

What happen that you had to replace the old screen? Do you have a means of booting from an external drive?

Hi Ben,

Tried it and still getting the white screen unfortunately.

Hi Mayer,

When I replace the old screen, it works still. It’s a cracked screen but I can still see the login screen and lines going across. Also what would booting on an external drive reveal? When I log in using a separate display through hdmi, I log in as usual and I can use my MacBook with no problem. Everything is functioning perfectly except I just can’t do anything with the new screen because it is blank.

Hi max,

Yes, I just tried again and it is still white. Also tried reconnecting my original screen and it works. That screen is cracked but I can still see the login screen and things are showing up fine. However no matter how many times I try installing the new screen it’s just white.
