Keyboard and power button not working

My macbook suddenly had some keys start typing the wrong letters. Now, (a few hours later) none of the keys or the power button are working.

The macbook turns on when I unplug the battery and plug it back in, and the trackpad works fine.

One of the cables is looking a bit stripped too. (see photo)

Is this a logic board issue, keyboard issue or both?

If the machine has not gotten wet.

The first thing to check is if the keyboard cable is fully inserted into the logic board.

If it looks like it has come out some, use a piece of electrical tape on the cable to pull it into the slot rather than trying to push it in (be sure to release the lock before doing so.

If it has gotten wet you can replace just the keyboard. I’ve posted a video guide for doing that.

Keyboard is liquid damaged. Take it to a reputable repair shop to check the MacBook for liquid damage.

Sometimes just need to get keyboard replaced if lucky.

You should go to someone, and repair the wire. It might be the reason!

Update (02/19/2019)

It also could have been the fact that something spilled on the keyboard, but probably the components and wiring. There is also the fact that it is to old to survive!
