Backlight and charging problem

Hello,

I have a MacBook Air with water damage (probably - the only element with red marker was a flex cable between boards).

The system works but only with a charger (no light on it) and is noisy. The LCD backlight works only if the flex cable is not connected (thats probably cause for the fan spinning high due to missing values from sensors located on audio board).

Once I connect flex cable the backlight is gone and after a few sec system will shut down.

I have found that backlight is gone when lower part of flex cable is pinned (the one closer to the hinge).

I have disassembled the whole laptop and found no place of gunk or corrosion. I have changed flex and audio board but without success.

Any advice what should I check? I have multi-meter and soldering tools.

Lets backup here…

You appear to have multiple failures from liquid damage.

The first action is to identify the parts that are damaged and depending what it is and the depth of damage clean and/or replace the damaged part.

I think you need to go back and do a better job as you clearly missed the damage on the logic board. Use a magnifier and inspect the I/O board & LVDS cable connectors and cables for damage. Maybe its just better to replace it: MacBook Air 13" Early 2014 Logic Board Replacement

I have found some small amount of green substance near the area in red rectangle (I have seen and clean that before I posted this post). Unfortunately cleaning it our by ispropane was not helped. I can post detailed pictures of my boards on wednesday once will find some time to take it out and do some photos.
