HELP! RAM Upgrade - Combinations

Hello there!

This is it! I’m ready! I’m fixing my MacBook Pro myself!

HELP!!! :D

It currently has two 2Gb chips installed. Can I upgrade only one slot with an 8Gb chip and leave the other one with the old 2Gb for a total of 10 Gb RAM? Is this at all possible?

I can’t afford a full upgrade right now but the MacBook is dying, I can’t permit go on like this!

thx in advance
