Is it easy to replace the LCD screen?

My S8 Plus screen just went black today. Didn't drop it, damage it in any way. Warranty expired in June so I can't get a new one. Wondering if its easy to fix the LCD or just get a new phone…that won't be cheap.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hmm. I am definitely a newbie. Just don't want another Samsung paperweight. The cost Samsung quoted was only slightly cheaper than paying off & getting a new phone. I was hoping it wouldn't require more skill I have to fix it myself. Thank you for responding!

I’ll let you decide this for yourself. I personally have no experience with this device so I have no idea if it’s easy to replace the screen. Repairability is a 4/10, which is not great. I wouldn’t advise a newbie to do this. Take your phone into a known-trustworthy phone repair shop if you are concerned you cannot do this yourself.

Is that just screen repair? The actual glass has no damage at all.

I am assuming your screen is dead, so that would require a full replacement of the screen because the glass and the LCD are fused together.
