Battery issues with MacBook Pro. Orange light on charger.

Let me prefaces this by saying that I have never spilled any liquids of any kind on my computer, so I am confident that this is not a water damage issue.

My MacBook Pro has to be plugged into the adapter in order for it to turn on. If it is unplugged, it immediately shuts off. When I plug my charger in, it shows an orange light. The battery icon shows a “lightning bolt” (initially wrote “power plug” by accident) symbol. Since I have never spilt any liquid on this machine, I assume that the battery is the issue here and that’s likely the only thing I need to replace. Does this sound accurate?

@mayer I am so happy you think my guide is worthy of being posted by the most reputable person here! Thanks so much! :-)

coconutBattery for iOS devices is in the works, I’ll probably have it up by tomorrow.

I am currently busy at the moment but I will make sure to use Coconutbattery as soon as I can! I just wanted to say that I miswrote what I said about the battery icon. I meant to say that it’s a “lightning bolt” icon and not a “power plug” icon. Does this reveal anything new?
