Can I replace a hard drive with a different serial number?

Can I replace a hard drive in my 2015 13” MacBook Air, with another hard drive having a different serial number but same model?

If it is the original SSD from apple and it fits in the socket, it should work fine. The worst thing that can happen is it doesn’t work and you must put the original SSD in the system.

Agreed! No issues switching drives around just make sure the system is compatible and is already using the same OS version. This is important with High Sierra and newer.
