Logic board, LCD or the display data connector. HELP

I have an IPhone 7. Last week I dropped it about 3 feet and I picked it up, the screen was blank but the backlight was lit up (shortly after the backlight went off and hasn't been back on) Also there are no cracks or chips on the phone, no water damage. I have tried to hard reset the phone.. volume down + power for 10 seconds and nothing. No sound. Now 1 thing it has consistently done is the home button still has that taptic “click“ when it's on. Just trying to figure out which is the issue. All answers are extremely appreciated in advance.

Thanks guys.

Have you tried connecting the phone to an iTunes enabled computer to see if iTunes can recognize it? If it does, then that means the phone is partly alive.

The first thing to do is to open up the device and inspect the flex connectors going from the screen to the logic board. If they aren’t torn, then check the connections to insure that they weren’t disconnected after the drop. Then try a replacement screen. LCD’s can and do break when heavily impacted. If that doesn’t solve the problem, then you are looking at a logic board issue.

If you’re getting haptic feedback then this points to display. The MOST likely problem is just a bad screen, and the alternative is that you have a short from a failed capacitor after drop on an image line. This is assuming that iTunes still detects the device in normal mode (asking for passcode, not in recovery mode).

Your next step is to try a known good LCD and see if image comes back.
