Keyboard and Trackpad not working. Power button does.
I have recently acquired a MacBook 4.1 - 2.1GHz "Penryn". The problem is that the keyboard and the trackpad isn't working at all, I'm beginning to suspecting the motherboard. (There ware no liquid damage)
The top case with the keyboard and the trackpad have been replaced with brand new ones and still no go. Upon visual inspection I cannot see anything wrong with the connector on the motherboard. Oh and the power button works as well as USB ports and everything else.
Anyone has any clue ?
Update: I took the laptop to a repair shop and they have diagnosed that either it is a southbridge problem and they can resolder the southbridge witch would cost about 160$ but it would be a 50/50 chance it would work OR it is a microscopic fracture in the motherboard and it is not repairable.
Is this a good question?
