No image, only backlight

Got a iPhone 7plus from Amazon and it was delivered with a blank screen. When powered, it only shows backlight without any image. I know the touch is working because i get response when I touched the screen.

I actually thought it was lcd issue, I ordered for another lcd and the result was the same.

I used an original lcd removed from another working iPhone 7plus and the result was the same.

Please I need your help.

If a known-good replacement screen has the same symptoms, then your problem is on the logic board. The most likely culprit is the Chestnut IC (U3703). It drives the voltages which power the LCD. Interestingly, it also powers the Touch circuit but there could be a partial failure.

Now, because you ordered this phone on Amazon, you really don't know the history of the device. Was it tossed around, run over by a car ;>) or came into contact with water...who knows. So you or someone qualified will have to start probing this logic board to get a better understanding of what's wrong. If there was water damage, all bets are off.

Thanks @refectio , I forgot to mention that the phone is a certified refurbished not a used one. There is no trace of water because i've checked the board. When powered on, it just showed that faint backlight and the touchscreen responds when operated.

What did you suggest I should do to the Chestnut IC (U3703)? Should I re-heat or what.

If it is certified refurbished and purchased from a reputable seller, then stop wasting your time and return t for a refund or a working one.

Thanks, the seller agreed to refund 50% of the cost given that I can't return it due to shipping issue( I'm outside USA). I just wish to revive this 256GB that wanted to become scrap. Moreover I'm losing 50% of my hard earned money.

He mentioned "Back light with no image" so that would rule out Chestnut IC

I had the same issue on my iPhone 7 (no display but backlight OK, after a 10 centimeters drop of the phone) : I found a local repair shop able to solve it : a fuse resistor was blown on the motherboard, he found it and shunted it in like 5 minutes. I’m the one who was really blown
