How to change the backpanel?

Hi,

I bought a used Surface Pro 3 on Ebay.

On the Backpanel is a significant dent where (I think) the air grid is.

So I looked here to find a guide and the parts to change it, but saddly there is non.

Can some one possibly help me?

Hi,

It seems as though you have to completely dis-assemble the tablet to get to the back cover.

Here is a link to the ifixit Microsoft Surface Pro 3 Teardown guide, which may be of some help.

Here are some links to suppliers of the part.

It is not a recommendation to use either of them. It is shown to give an idea of the cost of the part. You may find other suppliers that suit you better. Just search for surface pro 3 housing back cover part to get results.

Thanks for your answer. It was my fear that I would have to take it al apart. Don't know if it is worth the risk, with the screen being this easy to break...

Hi,

If it's not causing any problems, it may be better to live with it as it is than to risk damaging the screen (plus the additional cost).
