Keyboard and Trackpad not working after tea spilling

Hi everyone,

Three days ago I spilled some tea on my Macbook Core Duo. It went out immediately, so I opened the upper case, dried with clean paper, and let it rest drying for a few days. Today I started it and it works except for trackpad and keyboard. Is it a motherboard problem? I now use a USB mouse, but I do not have an USB keyboard. What should I do? Is there a way to check if it is a motherboard problem, a cable problem? Should I replace the upper case with a new one?

Thanks or your help!

If it works with an external keyboard and mouse it's not the logic board.

It works with an external mouse, I do not have a external keyboard. What should I do then? Do you think that changing the upper case will solve the problem?

borrow a keyboard and test before going to the expense of a upper case. Any USB keyboard will work, even a PC.
