Upper cases interchangeable here?
I have two Core 2 Duo Macbooks, A1181. One has a broken upper case cable, which is out of stock. It is of the silver variety.
The other is ok, but it is of the orange/brown variety. They are clearly not interchangeable - they have different connectors at the upper case.
My question is: can I just take the entire upper case with cable and use it on the laptop with the broken cable? Are they interchangeable?
Is this a good question?

Please give the EMC # of both machines.

Aren't all the A1181 just white ?

There are no EMC numbers on the back. They are mid-2007.
One is black and one is white, but I don't care about that.

The first answer below is NOT correct. White and black upper cases with the same type of cable may be interchangeable, but ones with different types of cables (silver vs orange/brown - see original question) are not. Tried it, and it did not work.
