Why is my iPhone not working after screen replacement?

I've replaced my iphone 5 screen and, after this, I've turned it on and it was perfect, working well. Then I noticed that the screen was not well docked so I've turned it off to try to put it properly. After that, the phone turned really hot and didn't work again. Itunes recognises the iphone but the screen is black. What can I do?

Start by double checking your work by going through this guide.

You may have damaged the screen when you pressed it into place. Small dents along the housing can restrict the proper positioning and while forcing it into place, you could have damaged the backlight.

Turn on your phone and shine a bright flashlight on the screen. If you see a dim image, that means the backlight is at g=fault. It could be the screen or damage to the logic board (heat?). Try installing your original cracked screen to see if that one works properly.
