searching no signal problem

when i put the sim in it says searching but then it says no service after a while, under settings there is no carrier option, its a uk phone. i have reset network settings but still nothing, can anyone help please

Update (09/01/2017)

it was a water damaged phone, had no power, the damage was around u1601. i got the phone working again by replacing shorted caps, im no longer working on the phone as it was returned to the person as was

Most likely you have a hardware issue with your baseband ic chip. You will need to find a repair shop that is reputable and does microsoldering. Have it reballed and jumpers on the U1 and V1 pads.

Search youtube Videos like this one on No service, searching, baseband reball to find some examples to see if this properly describes your symptoms.

Hi, I was finally sick of this issue so I slammed my iPhone against a wall. Then, after a week and a half of no service my signal appeared. It’s no joke. And obviously this isn’t a good method - but it’s the best method and only method that works. My contract is almost up so I refused to PAY apple for anything else.
