Water Damage on MacBook air

Hi my niece accidentally spilled water on her macbook air's keyboard. It wouldn't turn on anymore. I did some research about water damage online. I saw one article. stating that I should get a fan and a crate ang pud the macbook air on top of that crate with a towel underneath the macbook air. I don't know if this would work. Worst come to worst I might bring the Macbook Air to a repair shop nearby. I don't want to go the apple store yet. Does ifixit offer repair services?

Answer this question I have this problem too

The whole idea of ifixit is to fix it yourself.

The only proper way to fix water damage is to immediately open up the device, clean it thoroughly and then diagnosis for corrosion/shorted/fried components. None of those voodoo crap on the internet will work, if not doing more damage.

Gumblue32 - Sadly there is no magic tricks here.

You need to disconnect the power and properly clean the system of all moisture and any corrosion damage. Often times people think they have dried there system only to discover a puddle was still inside slowly causing damage.
