What should I change or check in the board? Back light problems.

I have a problem with the back light of my iPad, so upon opening the device I immediately noticed that there was a short in the area that I'm marking, even on the shield it shows burn marks, so my question is do I need to change the coil (clearly it is burnt) only or there are other diodes I need to change? If so is there any way I can test them to see if they are working as they should? Thanks in advance!

Looks like water damage--see the cap in the corner. The only way to get this kind of extreme damage is from a short to ground on the backlight line--find out if you have a short to ground on that line using your multimeter. Figure out the cause of the short to ground --likely a bad cap--then relieve the short.

You'll likely have to rebuild the backlight circuit. You can find lots of videos showing you how to measure your diodes etc. I have a few on my YouTube Channel--iPad Rehab--that might be helpful although none are for this particular version of iPad--this is an unusual fault.
